At what age do you plan on getting pregnant? Here’s what you should know
Pregnant at 20, 30 or 40 years… What’s the difference? It’s common knowledge that women in their twenties are more fertile. However, do you know how different fertility actually is between the three ages?
Your pregnancy between the age of 20, 30 and 40
In your 20s
If you want to get pregnant in your twenties, this usually happens with no health problems.
At this age, fertility is at its highest, except in rare cases.
The risk of pregnancy failure or getting gestational diabetes is very weak.
When you get pregnant for the first time in your 20s, you don’t know a lot about what motherhood responsibilities mean. You don’t think of it and often you don’t feel stressed or nervous, but rather live this stage joyfully.
In your 30s
In the beginning of your 30s your fertility is high. However, it decreases by 2% as you turn 33 and by 12% at the age of 35.
If you get pregnant after the age of 35, you should be regularly checked to avoid suffering from hypertension of gestational diabetes.
You could feel tired and insomniac, especially in your first trimester of pregnancy. However, giving birth at this age usually happens with no problems.
Your pregnancy at this age also helps you feel family stability and motherhood more than your 20s. This way, you can plan and organize your life better.
In your 40s
Getting pregnant at this age can happen with no problems. It’s important that you undergo regular check-ups and not neglect them, this way you can prevent miscarriage.
At this age, fertility decreases even more, and chances of pregnancy reach 1% by the age of 45. However, it could still happen.
If you get pregnant in your 40s, try to rest, especially by the end of your pregnancy and before birth to keep your energy.
In this case, you feel a great change in your life after spending long years with no children. Therefore, you should prepare well psychologically for this new stage. However, you should do this joyfully. Of course, always make sure you share the experience with your husband.
