Try these foods that could make your delivery easier!
Do some foods help facilitate giving birth? It’s best to know the answer if you’ve passed your 40 weeks of pregnancy without showing symptoms of labor. In this case, you’ll feel heavy, tired, and unable to endure more. But before resorting to medical methods, you should try to take advantage of some foods and drinks’ benefits.
How to make delivery easier?
Eat these foods
Pineapple: you may love this fruit because it tastes good and helps you lose weight, but you’ll love it more by the end of your pregnancy. It contains bromelain, an enzyme that helps dilate the cervix. Eat a few slices or drink some of its juice every day.
Licorice: you’ve never been able to resist it, but if you want to speed up your delivery, go for the black, natural kind. You’ll then notice more intense contractions in your uterus.
Garlic: you certainly don’t like its smell, but you should still try to eat it if you want to make your delivery easier. Having enough garlic can stimulate your bowels and make you rush to the toilet more often. Meanwhile, it will help your baby move down your abdomen, stimulate your uterus and cervix and prepare your body for delivery. Make garlic part of your meals, but don’t overdo it, as it could cause indigestion.
Fibers: they’re useful in all cases, but you’ll need them most by the end of your pregnancy. Try to have foods rich in fibers. Focus on fresh and dried fruits and vegetables. Constipation could make your baby’s movement downwards harder, and fibers can prevent that.
Drinks
- Raspberry leaf tea: you may have never had it before, but try to get used to drinking during the final weeks of your pregnancy. This tea stimulates uterine muscles’ contraction. To prepare some, let a bag of raspberry leaf crumbs soak in two thirds of a cup of boiled water for 3 minutes. Let the extract cool down before drinking a little. Don’t overdo it; one cup a day is enough.
- Cumin extract: do you drink it often when you have digestion problems and to get rid of gases? Then keep in mind it helps in your delivery as well. Prepare it and drink a little every day. To enhance its taste, you can add some honey.
